All good things must come to an end.
As was written at the beggining of this adventure, the purpose was to reach the treasure together with your companion. Well, as you probably have figured out, the treasure was never the end-goal.
The true purpose of this adventure is to serve as both a reminder of the important things in life, and a spark for new things to come.
The reminder is for the people who have forgotten the fundamentals of life, which we intuitively know as children, but forget as adults.
First of all, having fun. It seems trivial, childish. “Fun, I don’t have time for that.” Clearly the intention is not for you to skip around a school-yard with your colleagues – but to remind you to enjoy the present time. Some of us seem to put this off for later, further and further back in the log of things we “need to do before”.
Second, we worry to much. How seldom does something play out the way we imagined, instead We are faced with adversity on a daily basis. Having a plan is great, But as obstacles inevitably appear, we give up. Joy, the kind that we feel right into the depth of our heart and soul, Takes struggle to reach – but it’s worth it!
Thirdly, is being right the most important thing in the world? We seem to look for ways to disagree, endlessly competing in a “Tug-of-War” of ideas, convinced we have nothing to learn from opposing views. If we were to see the person behind the opposing view, we would find we have much more in common with one another.
Finally, The incredible pressure for perfection and high velocity of things Is not sustainable. Look, ambition is a marvelous thing, achievement is admirable and results are important – but if purposeful enjoyment is not part of the process, then what is it for? Our world has become a peculiar place, AS we reach technological advancement beyond the imaginations of past generations, we lose something far more valuable – ourselves.
Go for a walk – without the intention of bringing oxygen into your lungs, but to look around.
Go to a concert – without the intention to showing everyone you went, but to enjoy the music.
Go meet a friend – Without the intention of getting something out of it, but to listen and laugh.
Remember, you have innate value, and there will never be a human being like yourself again, and although this adventure has come to an end, perhaps it will be the beginning of something much more important and valuable.
Sincerely,
